FERO Thermal Tie™ – Heavy-Duty Holed Rap-Tie® Masonry Connector
FERO Thermal Tie™ – Heavy-Duty Holed Rap-Tie® Masonry Connectors are designed to transfer lateral loads from the exterior masonry veneer to the structural backing with one fastener. The L-shaped, 16-gauge steel plate of the tie is fastened to the surface of the structural backing. Holes sit along the far end of the plate, and the V-Tie™ is inserted into the corresponding hole, providing a constant connection of the veneer wall to the structural backing without any risk of veneer disengagement. By using multiple fasteners, both shear and axial forces can be resisted and the entire wall assembly functions as a whole. The wall thickness (including the veneer and structural backing) work to limit lateral load, offering reduced lateral deflections and increased resistance.
ALL FERO PRODUCTS include complete documentation with descriptions, technical illustrations and images. Installation requirements and methods are clearly detailed.

Safety Data Sheets
Design data is reported separately for Canada and the United States because design methods and requirements for masonry ties and their uses differ between their respective codes and standards. All FERO ties and connectors meet or exceed both sets of standards and regulations including but not limited to the following: CSA Standard A370-14 (R2018), Connectors for Masonry, ACI 530-13/ASCE 5-13/TMS 402-13 Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures, ACI 530.1-13/ASCE 6-13/TMS 602-13 Specification for Masonry Structures, International Building Code 2018, Brick Industry Association Technical Notes 28b, 28d and 44b.
